About This Walk

Radley Lakes is one of South Oxfordshire's best-kept secrets: a series of former gravel pits that have transformed over decades into a rich wildlife habitat. The flat perimeter paths wind around several interconnected lakes, offering excellent off-lead walking for dogs and outstanding birdwatching for their owners. The lakes are particularly popular with water-loving dogs: multiple access points allow for supervised swimming, and the shallow margins are ideal for dogs that prefer to paddle. The route can be extended by connecting to the Thames Path for a longer circuit via Abingdon. Bring a picnic: the lakeside spots are some of the most peaceful in the area.
