About This Walk

Abbey Meadows is the jewel of Abingdon's riverside and one of the most complete family dog walk destinations in South Oxfordshire. The large, fully refurbished playground (free to use) caters for children aged 2 to 12 with wooden forts, net tunnels, monkey bars, and a seasonal splash park that is enormously popular in summer. The open meadow areas are excellent for off-lead dogs, and the River Thames frontage gives dogs the option of a paddle. The riverside walk extends in both directions: head upstream towards Abingdon Lock for a lovely circular route, or downstream towards Radley for a longer adventure. The Nag's Head on the Thames is a short walk away for a post-walk drink.
